On the Addition to the Organic Law of Georgia

On the Citizenship of Georgia

Article 1. The Organic Law of Georgia “On the Citizenship of Georgia” (Sakartvelos Parlamentis Utskebebi, 05 March 1993, Entry 66) is to be supplemented with Article 27¹ as follows:

“Article 27¹.   The Conditions of Acquiring the Citizenship of Georgia by the Persons Having the Status of Repatriate

1. The requirements of Article 26 of this law do not apply to acquiring the citizenship of Georgia by the persons having the status of repatriate.
2. Granting the citizenship of Georgia to the persons having the status of repatriate shall be done according the Presidential Decree On the Simplified Procedure of Granting the Citizenship of Georgia to the Persons Having the Status of Repatriate.”

Article 2. This law is to come into force on the 1st of January 2009.

О внесении добавления в органический закон Грузии о предоставлении Гражданства Грузии

Статья 1. Органический закон Грузии «О гражданстве Грузии» («Сакартвелос парламентис уцкебеби», 05 марта 1993 г., параграф 66) дополнить статьей 27¹ следующего содержания:

 «Статья 27¹. Условия приобретения гражданства Грузии для обладателей статуса репатрианта

1.       На получение гражданства Грузии обладателями статуса репатрианта не распространяются требования статьи 26 данного закона.

2.       Обладателям статуса репатрианта гражданство Грузии присваивается согласно указу Президента Грузии «О присвоении гражданства Грузии обладателям статуса репатрианта в упрощенном порядке». 

Статья 2. Этот закон войдет в силу с 1 января 2009 года.
